This absolutely stunning piece of engineering excellence is virtually unique, expertly polished this Titanium Radial Exhaust Manifold was made by The Alvis Motor Company in 1951 for the Westland Whirliwnd Wasp Helicopter.
One of only a handful remaining, mostly in museums across the world.
14 Cylinder Radial
Alvis started development of a 14-cylinder, two row radial of 1,118 cu in (18.3 L) displacement, based on the Leonides. Certification covered the Mk. 702/1 for aeroplanes at 875 hp (652 kW) and the 751/1 for helicopters at 850 hp (630 kW). The only numerous model of the Major was the Mk. 755/1, a medium supercharged, de-rated, obliquely mounted direct-drive and fan cooled engine fitted to the Westland Whirlwind Mks. 5, 6, 7 and 8.
This amazing piece dismantles for easy transportation but when assembled its looks are mind blowing.
Can be used as a wall hanging, turning into a coffee table by designing a piece of toughened glass or simply stood upright, the versatility is there for you to choose your own use.
Made from titanium and highly polished.
